Join Scott Bloom, LCSW, Director of Special Projects at the New York Psychotherapy and Counseling Center and former founding Director of School Mental Health Services for NYC Public Schools.
In this session, Scott will provide a practical overview of youth mental health and the critical role parents and caregivers play in supporting young people. Drawing on decades of experience building school and community-based mental health systems, he will explore common signs and symptoms, address stigma, and share strategies for engaging parents in meaningful and supportive conversations.
Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of how to identify when a young person may need support and how to connect families to resources within schools and local communities, helping create stronger and more informed support systems around youth.
